Hunor Csala

Hunor got his BSc and MSc from Budapest University of Technology (Hungary) in Mechanical Engineering. He was also an exchange student at University of Naples (Italy) as part of his Masters. He is a PhD student in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Utah.

Siva Viknesh

Siva joins us from IIT Kanpur (India) where he got his MS degree. He joins our group with a nice publication record (Physics of Fluids and Physical Review E). He is a PhD student in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Utah.

Mahmoud Elhadidy

Mahmoud got his BS degree in Mechatronics Engineering from Mansoura University (Egypt). He is a PhD student in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Utah.

Alexis Throop

Alexis is a Mechanical Engineering PhD student. She completed her undergraduate degree at Duquesne University in Biomedical Engineering with minors in Mathematics and Biochemistry. She published multiple papers and presented at multiple leading conferences while working with Dr. Rana Zakerzadeh. During her time in undergrad, she was an active advocate for women in STEM, serving as the president of Duquesne’s Society of Women Engineers chapter. Alexis has received multiple awards including the ARCS (Achievement Rewards for College Scientists) Fellowship at Utah.

Bray got his undergrad degree from Northern Arizona University (NAU) in Mechanical Engineering. He is an MSc student in Mechanical Engineering at NAU. He is also a full time employee at W. L. Gore in Flagstaff and has been sponsored by Gore to do his Masters degree in our group (remotely since our group has moved to Utah).

Maryam Aliakbari

Maryam graduated from Azad University in Tehran. She is a PhD student in Mechanical Engineering at Northern Arizona University (co-advised with Dr. Peter Vadasz). Followup position:  Senior Engineer at General Motors (Michigan).

Wei Xu

Dr. Xu is a faculty at Jiangsu University (China). He was a visiting scholar in our lab. His research interests include finite/discrete element methods and computational mechanics.
